Research shows: women in executive teams change the way organisations think

Research shows that organisations with more women in leadership positions are more profitable, more socially responsible and offer safer, higher quality customer experiences. And, of course, there is a clear moral argument for increasing diversity among top management teams (TMTs). But when looking at the link between female presence and better business outcomes, and what specific mechanisms cause those positive changes, existing research is much more limited.

Harvard Business Review researchers Corinne Post, Boris Lokshin and Christophe Boone studied how a company's strategic orientation changes when a woman is added to the executive committee.
